Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt [5TH Degree] | Judo Black Belt
A Rio de Janeiro native, Nei started in the martial arts at age 6, initially with Judo, achieving the rank of black belt. After moving to Barra, he had his first contact with Jiu-Jitsu in 1987. Nei started his training with the legend Master Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti, who was one of the first students of Rolls Gracie. Nei later transferred to Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva’s school as an instructor. Alexandre was part of the first generation of Jacare’s students and had invited Nei to be his assistant because he was considered to be one of his most technical students. Nei has competed in several tournaments and competitions winning several state and national titles. He earned his black belt in 1998. Nei is now training and teaching at the Alliance Branch of Coral Springs.
