Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 6th Degree Black Belt | Judo Black Belt
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nei Seda began his martial arts journey at the age of six with Judo, eventually earning his black belt. In 1987, after moving to Barra da Tijuca, he was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and began training under the legendary Master Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti, one of the founding figures of modern Jiu-Jitsu and a direct student of Rolls Gracie.Nei is proud to be one of the original students from the foundation of the Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Association, one of the most respected and successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu organizations in the world.
As his technical knowledge and teaching abilities grew, Nei was invited by Master Alexandre "Gigi" Paiva, a first-generation student of Jacare and co-founder of Alliance, to become his assistant instructor. Recognized as one of Gigi's most technical students, Nei played an important role in developing athletes and students while continuing to refine his own skills.
Throughout his competitive career, Nei earned numerous state and national championship titles. He received his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in 1998 and has dedicated his life to teaching, mentoring, and preserving the values of the Alliance methodology.
In addition to his extensive experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Nei specializes in defensive tactics and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction for law enforcement professionals, helping officers develop practical, effective, and legally appropriate control techniques for real-world situations.
Today, Nei is the Head Instructor of Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Coral Springs, where he continues to share nearly four decades of martial arts experience while developing students of all ages and skill levels through world-class instruction, discipline, and leadership.
