You’re truly never too old to earn your black belt in jiu-jitsu, and Adegard Câmara Florentino (more commonly known as Touro Moreno) is proof of that.

The 82-year-old was promoted to black belt about three weeks ago by Ariane Pereira Guarnier, who won gold at the IBJJF World Master Championship in 2017. Câmara was the first jiu-jitsu practitioner that she promoted to black belt.

The achievement comes fifty years after Câmara earned his brown belt, according to Brazilian news outlet A Gazeta.

In addition to being a jiu-jitsu black belt, Câmara is also a former boxer and vale tudo fighter. He’s the father of Olympic boxing medalists Yamaguchi Falcão Florentino and Esquiva Falcão Florentino.

The accomplished martial artist has a lot to be proud of, and his new black belt was well deserved after all these years.
